The sister of a Civil Aid Service (CAS) member who passed away while on duty identified her brother’s body at the Kwai Chung Public Mortuary on Monday morning. Speaking to the media, she stated that she is still processing the situation but emphasized that her brother had been in good health.
The 57-year-old CAS member, Leung, lost consciousness after completing a fitness assessment at the CAS headquarters in Yau Ma Tei last Friday and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The department expressed profound sorrow over his sudden passing.
During her visit to claim Leung’s body, his sister shared that her brother had been dedicated to his work with the Civil Aid Service, occasionally taking on freelance jobs. She also mentioned that Leung had undergone annual physical fitness tests, with no known underlying health issues.
The family is awaiting further investigations to better understand the circumstances surrounding his death.
