From June 1, health insurance participants in Hai Duong must use digital platforms like VssID and VNeID instead of paper insurance cards.
Hai Duong Provincial Social Insurance will stop issuing paper health insurance cards starting June 1, 2025. From this date, participants must use digital health insurance cards through the VssID and VNeID platforms.
New or replacement paper cards will no longer be printed, except for individuals without chip-embedded citizen ID cards, no national ID cards, or those who are unable to install the required apps.
This change is part of Vietnam Social Security’s digital transformation plan. It follows the government’s direction to simplify administrative procedures and improve public services. The goal is to modernize the system and provide more convenience to people using health insurance.
Social Insurance offices at the district, town, and city levels have been told to standardize personal data. They must verify people’s identity details to support digital use in health care and insurance processes.
Employers, agencies, and authorized service providers must now collect chip-based ID information from their employees and health insurance members. They are also required to guide them in installing and using the VssID app on their smartphones.
Medical facilities in Hai Duong are working with patients to ensure a smooth transition. They will help people use their ID cards, chip-embedded IDs, or the VssID and VNeID apps during medical checkups and treatments.
This move aims to boost efficiency, reduce paperwork, and provide faster, more transparent health insurance services across the province.
