Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and his wife Jill are spotlighted in the new documentary *Matter of Time*, which premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival on Thursday, June 12. The film focuses on their dedication to raising awareness and funds for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare genetic skin disorder. Through personal stories from EB patients and their families, the documentary highlights the significant challenges they face.
In an exclusive clip, Vedder reflects on the profound impact of getting closer to the EB community: “The more you understand it, you cannot escape how difficult the challenges are for these families.” Directed by Matt Finlin, the documentary features an original score by Broken Social Scene and music by Vedder himself.
The film is named after Vedder’s 2020 song, *Matter of Time*, which he wrote as a tribute to those affected by EB worldwide. The documentary not only showcases the community’s resilience but also their unified efforts to find treatments and, ultimately, a cure. The screening in New York will also include a special acoustic performance by Vedder.
