New Delhi, June 3, 2025 — The Apollo Hospitals Group marked a major milestone this week with the 20th anniversary celebration of Apollo Medicine, its official medical journal, which has been in continuous publication since 2004. The event, held in New Delhi, was attended by leading figures in medicine and science, with Professor Ajay Kumar Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, serving as the chief guest.
In his keynote address, Prof. Sood praised Apollo Medicine for its unwavering dedication to academic excellence and its contributions to healthcare innovation. He underlined the essential role that high-quality research plays in advancing human health and acknowledged the journal’s efforts to maintain academic rigor and promote collaboration.
Dr. Prathap C Reddy, Founder and Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, reflected on the journal’s legacy. He said the publication has been a key part of Apollo’s mission to advance healthcare through research, innovation, and global collaboration. He emphasized the importance of continuing to inform and educate the clinical community on the latest developments in medicine.
Over the past two decades, Apollo Medicine has grown into a globally respected platform for medical research and scholarship. Dr. Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Group, noted the journal’s evolution and its emphasis on inclusivity. She highlighted that 28.2% of its editorial board members are women, a figure notably higher than the average in the field.
Mr. P Shivakumar, Managing Director of Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals in Delhi, described the journal’s two-decade journey as a reflection of Apollo’s commitment to scientific progress and accessibility. He said the journal continues to empower clinicians and researchers, driving meaningful advancements in healthcare.
Dr. Anupam Sibal, Group Medical Director of Apollo Hospitals Group, spoke about the journal’s international reach. He pointed out that the editorial board now includes 78 members from 13 countries across five continents, underlining the publication’s global perspective.
Editor-in-Chief Dr. Raju Vaishya added that the journal’s leadership and contributors are among the best in the world. He noted that 13 members of the editorial board were recognized in 2024 by Stanford University as being in the top 2% of scientists globally.
The event included award presentations recognizing the contributions of authors, reviewers, and members of the medical community who have supported the journal’s growth and impact over the years.
As Apollo Medicine enters its third decade, it continues to serve as a key platform for advancing knowledge, promoting collaboration, and contributing to the global medical community.
