Celebrity fitness trainer Vinod Channa, known for helping Anant Ambani shed 108 kilograms in just 18 months and guiding Nita Ambani to an 18-kilogram weight loss, has shared three core eating habits aimed at promoting long-term health and delaying the signs of aging. In a recent blog post, Channa highlighted the critical role of nutrition in maintaining energy, skin health, and overall vitality, encouraging individuals to focus on sustainable lifestyle changes rather than short-term diets.
According to Channa, a nutrient-rich, balanced diet is key to looking and feeling younger. Meals that include the right mix of proteins, carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats support essential body functions such as cell repair, collagen production, metabolism, and immune response. These benefits not only help preserve a youthful appearance but also promote internal resilience against age-related conditions.
Dr Kiran Soni, Head of Nutrition and Health at Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida, supports Channa’s approach. She emphasised that adequate protein is crucial for maintaining muscle mass, while micronutrients and fibre improve gut function and skin elasticity—factors that significantly influence how the body ages. She noted that visible aging is not only a surface issue but also a reflection of internal health.
Channa also warned against the harmful effects of processed and sugary foods, identifying them as major contributors to premature aging. He pointed to refined carbohydrates and ultra-processed snacks as sources of oxidative stress and inflammation, which can accelerate the development of wrinkles, fatigue, and chronic illnesses. Dr Soni advised limiting processed food consumption to no more than once every two weeks to allow the body to perform optimally and maintain a youthful glow.
In addition to nutrition, Channa promoted mindful eating as a transformative habit for lasting wellness. He encouraged individuals to be present during meals, avoid distractions, and listen to hunger and fullness cues. Dr Soni agreed, explaining that mindful eating helps control portion sizes, reduces emotional eating, and enhances digestion and nutrient absorption—all of which contribute to improved health and vitality.
Together, Channa’s recommendations form a holistic approach to aging well—one rooted in consistency and balance. By prioritising whole foods, limiting harmful dietary habits, and fostering awareness during meals, individuals can support their physical and emotional well-being while preserving a youthful appearance.
